Q: Are there any effects of overdosing on milk thistle, like taking 14 tablets per day?

A: While you have not specified the amount of active herb in each tablet of milk thistle, it is still not advisable to take such a high dose of any herb for any reason, unless under strict medical supervision for a specific medical condition and which would generally be for a short duration.

As you have not stated the amount of milk thistle in each tablet, it is difficult to advise on the overdosage.

In general, it is not know what the overdose symptoms of milk thistle are, as it has not been fully studied. Some research does show that diarrhoea and bloating may be possible side effects of taking too much milk thistle. The diarrhoea could be a problem if causes dehydration.

You really need to reduce the quantity of milk thistle you are taking and speak to a qualified natural therapist about specific dosage for your particular health issue.
