Prevention of anxiety disorders
Anxiety disorders are unpreventable in certain circumstances:
- Brain chemistry - if the levels of certain neurotransmitters are not balanced and healthy, this may lead to the development of an anxiety disorder. The neurotransmitters could become imbalanced due to a number of reasons, many of which are not easily preventable
- Genetics - people who have an anxiety disorder are more likely to pass the faulty gene to their children
- Personality - it may be difficult to change one's personality, but it could be possible to change one's reaction to life events

- Life experiences - some people who have very poor life experiences (abuse, violence, poverty, isolation) may be able to prevent the development of an anxiety disorder (or even if it does occur, to less its impact on them), by ensuring they have good medical care, both on a physical level and psychological level
